In the first seven months of 2022, Uzbekistan saw a significant increase in its agricultural exports, with Russia emerging as the largest consumer of its vegetables and fruits in terms of value, importing 40.5% of the total exports. The country exported 253.5 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables to Russia, contributing $222.5 million to the total export value of $549.2 million, which saw a 14.6% increase compared to the same period in 2021. Kazakhstan, China (PRC), Kyrgyzstan, and Pakistan were other significant importers. The exports consisted mainly of grapes and peaches, with over $110 million worth of these products being exported. This period also marked Uzbekistan's achievement in ranking fourth globally in cherry exports, surpassing Spain.
