In August 2020, Russia experienced a decrease in butter imports by 6.8% to 10.4 thousand tons, despite an increase in cheese and cottage cheese imports by 8.9% to 26.8 thousand tons. The republic also saw a rise in raw imports from the Republic of Belarus by 6.2% to 23 thousand tons and from other countries by 29.5% to 3.7 thousand tons. Catfish imports also surged by 8.2% to 6 thousand tons, with a notable increase from the Republic of Belarus by 5% to 5.3 thousand tons and from other countries by 42.2% to 669.5 tons. On the other hand, imports of SCM and whey powder experienced a decline. The rise in imports from other countries and the change in the exchange rate have led to an increase in the weighted average price of imports, affecting the Dairy Index DIA.
