Poland: The weather instantly verifies the prices; wholesale raspberries cost almost PLN 100/kg

Imported blueberries and raspberries are currently fetching very high prices. They owe them to the weather, which once again proves that the situation on agricultural markets can change like in a kaleidoscope, contrary to forecasts. The cold air masses that linger over North Africa and the Iberian Peninsula have a significant impact on the availability and prices of berries. At the end of February, deliveries of both raspberries, strawberries and blueberries from the above-mentioned countries traditionally increased. However, the weather is now slowing down the ripening of the fruit. Currently, importers and wholesalers are experiencing visible shortages and prices are rising. The availability of raspberries is extremely low, even for this time of year. On Dutch wholesale markets, a kilogram reaches a price of EUR 16 - 18 (PLN 75 - 85 / kg).
