From February 2nd to 4th, representatives from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and seaweed industry professionals from the United States and Portugal visited Wando County, the largest seaweed production area in South Korea. This visit was part of a collaborative project between the World Wildlife Fund and Incheon National University (Professor Kim Jang-gyun) to promote seaweed aquaculture industry development and facilitate exchanges between researchers and fishermen. Wando County Mayor Shin Woo-cheol explained the excellence of Wando's seaweed to the delegation and discussed the future development direction of the seaweed industry. Mayor Shin noted that following last week's World Bank engagement with developing countries, various nations worldwide have been showing interest in Wando's seaweed cultivation.
