The article highlights a decade of growth in nut and dehydrated fruit production, with a 54% increase from the 2011/12 season to the 2021/22 season, despite COVID-19 related interruptions in shipping and logistics. Specifically, almond, cashew, hazelnut, macadamia nut, and peanut production are expected to range from 3% to 7% above the previous season, while walnut and pistachio production have seen decreases due to average harvests in key regions. Dehydrated fruit production, particularly plums and dates, is projected to increase significantly, with anticipated better harvests in key countries and expansion of new plantations in North Africa and the Middle East.
