The article highlights the ongoing efforts in Hainan Province to organize the third provincial census of livestock and poultry genetic resources, in accordance with national directives. With a focus on measuring the performance of the locally unique Jiaji duck breed, efforts are being made to revise and improve egg quality measurement plans, with support from national and provincial experts. Egg samples for this measurement were provided by Hainan Chuanwei Muscovy Duck Breeding Co., Ltd., and the determination work was conducted by a team of experts, graduate students, and undergraduates from Hainan University, demonstrating the commitment and involvement of various stakeholders in the national census initiative.
