The success of Hungarian asparagus is undeniable, and in addition to export markets, the vitamin-rich vegetable is also increasingly popular among domestic consumers. According to a joint survey by the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) and the Hungarian Fruit and Vegetable Professional Organization (FuritVeB), the domestic growing area for asparagus ranges between 1200-1400 hectares, and the total harvest per year amounts to around 5 thousand tons.
