Argentina: For the first time, trout from northern Patagonia will travel to Europe

The trout that are produced in the region called “norpatagonia”, specifically in the area of the Piedra del Águila Reservoir in the province of Neuquén, will mark a new milestone in the coming days within the export path that they have undertaken in recent years. Last June, the first shipment left for the United States, and last year the first sale had been made to Japan and the Brazilian market was also opened. Now, the National Agri-Food Health and Quality Service (Senasa) reported that it has enabled Official Establishment 5443 of the firm “Idris Patagonia SA” for the shipment of whole or filleted trout to the European Union. Thus, this company becomes the first in North Patagonia to be able to send aquaculture products to that destination.
