The Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality has supported women in the production of Italian mozzarella cheese from buffalo milk, as part of the 'Women in the Rural Mozzarella' project. The project was implemented in collaboration with various organizations and departments, including the Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) International Agricultural Research and Education Center (UTAEM). The Rural Services Department of the municipality provided material support to the trainees, presenting them with cheese making kits. The initiative aims to brand the cheese as 'Mandarella' from Diyarbakir.
