A report from the Rosario Stock Exchange (BCR) indicates that agriculture and its related activities account for around 20% of the country's value added, generate one out of every five jobs, contribute nearly 20% of national revenue, and represent three out of every five dollars that enter through exports. In terms of wealth generation, the BCR pointed out that in 2024, the agri-food chains represented 18% of the national Gross Value Added (GVA). Specifically, they contributed "1.8 pesos out of every 10 pesos of Gross Value Added", an increase from 2023, when the historic drought reduced the sector's participation to a minimum of 16%, the lowest level since 2004.
