Cabrero, July 14, 2023.- More than four million 600 thousand boxes of fresh fruit and flowers were inspected this 2022-2023 season at the SAG / USDA-APHIS / ASOEX Fresh Fruit Inspection Site in Cabrero, highlighting the certification of blueberries and apples, among other products, destined for the United States market. In this regard, the Regional Director of the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) of Biobío, Roberto Ferrada, indicated that "since this Inspection Site began to operate, in 2017, more than 30 million boxes of fresh fruit have been certified , mainly blueberries. He added that of the total boxes inspected this season (4 million 600 thousand boxes, equivalent to almost 39 thousand tons), 69.7% correspond to fresh blueberries, 26% to apples, 2% to cherries, 1.5% to Asian pears and 0.8% to other products such as tulip bulbs, peonies and red currants, which come from 39 exporters, located between the Maule and Los Lagos regions.
