Indonesia is facing a paradoxical situation where it is planning to import egg flour despite having a surplus of eggs due to the unstable and high price of eggs in the country. The high price of eggs is preventing the establishment of egg flour factories, making imports necessary. Despite discussions with President Joko Widodo about building an egg flour factory in East Java, no progress has been made due to the fluctuating egg prices. The instability in egg prices is also attributed to the population of laying hens, with numbers increasing when prices are low and decreasing when prices are high, a trend influenced by natural selection.
