This year may become a record-breaking year for the volume of insurance compensations to farmers, National Union of Agro Insurers (NUAI) President Kornei Bizhdov told journalists on the sidelines of the roundtable "Agro Insurance in Russia in the Context of Climate Challenges for the Agricultural Complex: Results, Tasks, and Development Prospects," which took place as part of the "Golden Autumn" exhibition. "Insurance payments are one of the main indicators of both the quality and the demand for agro insurance. For 2024 and the first eight months of 2025, Russian agro insurers have paid out 14.5 billion rubles in insurance payments across all areas of agro insurance," said Bizhdov, adding that more than 10.4 billion rubles have already been paid out under government-supported contracts. According to him, the NUAI predicts a significant increase in payments—plus another 3.5 to 4 billion rubles—after the submission of the "Information on the Harvest of Agricultural Crops" report. ...
