The ongoing war and mass emigration have led to a significant decrease in Ukraine's agricultural consumption market, resulting in an unsold potato harvest and reduced potato planting areas by large producers. This has led to high potato prices and a potential shortage in the fall. To address this, small and medium-sized farmers are stepping in to plant more potatoes for the next season. However, due to increased logistics costs, plant protection products, and labor expenses, potato prices are expected to rise significantly. Additionally, Ukraine is planning to export starch, expecting to produce around 50,000 tons this year, to countries like Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan that have a high demand for it.
