Wu Yunbo, a deputy to the National People’s Congress and Secretary of the Party Branch of Bayantala Sumudong Saragacha in Inner Mongolia, has proposed the establishment of agricultural and animal husbandry cooperatives to boost the development of agriculture and animal husbandry. The success of the Zalut Banner Malaqin Aili (house of herdsmen) cattle-raising cooperative in 2014, which has become a thousand-head cattle breeding farm, beef processing plant, and has created a complete industrial chain from ranch to table, is highlighted as a model. The cooperative has improved the organational strength of the Gacha party branch, supported poverty alleviation, and consolidated the results of poverty alleviation. However, the development of these cooperatives is facing challenges, including a lack of talent, for which Wu Yunbo suggests the establishment of a long-term mechanism for the training of farmers and herdsmen, and strengthening policy support for large-scale and intensive development of agricultural production.
