This week, the Tierra del Fuego Legislature rehabilitated the possibility of producing farmed salmonids by modifying Law 1355, enacted in 2021, which had prohibited this activity in Argentina's southernmost province. Despite the sustainability of Tierra del Fuego's industrial promotion regime showing cracks in recent times, the vote to modify the law was very close. The modification of Law 1355 was approved by eight affirmative votes and seven negative votes. Voting in favor were Juan Carlos Pino and Virgilio García (Justicialist Party), Federico Greve and Myriam Martínez (FORJA), Luciano Selzer and Natalia Gracianía (La Libertad Avanza), Gisela Dos Santos (Sumemos Tolhuin), and Matías Lapadula (Provincia Grande).
