Titiek Soeharto Encourages Amran to Revive Pajale Program
Titiek considers Pajale key to catching up on soybean self-sufficiency that is still lagging.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Chair of Commission IV of the House of Representatives, Siti Hediati Hariyadi, has asked the Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman, to revive the Pajale program (rice, corn, soybean) to strengthen national food production. Specifically, she hopes that Amran and the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) will work to increase soybean productivity. This is because the productivity of rice and corn is currently abundant. The local production of these two commodities is able to meet domestic needs, unlike soybeans, which are largely still met through imports. "We appreciate the MoA's ability to be self-sufficient in rice and corn, please move forward to be self-sufficient in soybeans.
