Farmers in the Tra Vinh hillock area are witnessing a prosperous winter-spring peanut crop season, with both productivity and prices seeing a significant rise from the previous year. The selling price of peanuts has nearly doubled to 15,000 - 18,000 VND/kg, and the average yield has improved to 9.5 tons/ha, attributed to the adoption of mist irrigation techniques. This has led to a notable profit of about 50 million VND per hectare for the farmers after a cultivation period of just over two months. The peanut cultivation area has expanded to nearly 5,000 hectares, taking over areas previously dedicated to rice due to water scarcity issues. An example of the success is Ms. Kim Thi Thao, who earned a profit of over 40 million VND from her 0.9 hectares of peanut farm.
