In Vietnam, Tra Vinh farmers collect 50 million VND per hectare of peanuts after 2 months of farming

Even though they are surrounded by salt water, farmers in the Tra Vinh hillock area are very excited because the winter-spring peanut crop has both productivity and price. Currently, peanuts in Tra Vinh are bought by traders right from the fields at prices ranging from 15,000 - 18,000 VND/kg depending on the type, nearly doubling compared to last year's bean crop. Meanwhile, thanks to the application of mist irrigation techniques, the average yield reached 9.5 tons/ha, nearly 2 tons higher than last year's winter-spring bean crop. Good intensive farming households achieve over 10 tons/ha and at the current selling price, each hectare of peanut farmers earn a profit of about 50 million VND after more than 2 months of cultivation. In this year's Winter-Spring peanut crop, most Tra Vinh farmers planted high-yielding bean varieties, on an area of nearly 5,000 hectares.
