Brazil: Traceability system gains global connection

The Brazilian Agro-Traceability System (Sibraar), developed by Embrapa Digital Agriculture with blockchain technology to track agro-industrial products, now has international interoperability thanks to a technical cooperation agreement with the Brazilian Automation Association-GS1 Brasil. Through QR Codes, Sibraar offers secure and auditable information about the quality and origin of products, covering all stages, from rural property to marketing. Furthermore, the system can integrate other companies and traceability technologies already on the market. The Sibraar initiative, which uses blockchain technology to track agricultural products, received recognition from the secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), Renata Miranda.
