Peanut harvesting is currently taking place in Greece, with overall production expected to be lower this year compared to last year. While adverse weather conditions have resulted in a decrease in production and smaller sized peanuts, demand for Greek peanuts is high. Italian, Ukrainian, Swedish, and German traders have expressed interest in purchasing peanuts from Greece, and Turkish producers plan to block exports to meet their own domestic demand. Greek producers are holding off on selling until after September 15 to assess the situation and are hoping for prices around 15 euros per unit.
