The Ministry of Transport has temporarily approved the flexibility of driving and rest times for road passenger and freight transporters, thus facilitating the flow of supplies between Spain and the rest of Europe, intermittently interrupted by protest actions on French roads. According to a note from Transport, the exemptions apply to international freight transport to or in transit through France, from Friday, December 12 to Friday, December 26, both dates included. For this, as stated in the BOE, the maximum daily driving limit is extended from 9 hours to 11 hours and the daily rest requirement is reduced from 11 to 9 hours. The weekly driving limit is also extended from 56 to 60 hours and the bi-weekly maximum from 90 to 120 hours.
