Indonesia's Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, is pushing for the optimization of fish cultivation to boost state revenue. The country has a vast potential in aquaculture, particularly in species like grouper, bubara, baronang, and napoleon. Trenggono also emphasized the development of other fisheries sectors such as shrimp, crab, lobster, and seaweed. He highlighted the potential of lobster and announced plans to collaborate with Australia in this area. Seaweed was identified as a strategically important commodity due to its carbon absorption properties and potential to replace plastic products.
