A substantial banana plantation, featuring over 7,000 plants, has successfully harvested its first seasonal crop in the Sairam district of the Turkestan region, Kazakhstan. The plantation, operated by entrepreneur Islam Aliyev, has yielded 1,000 tons of bananas and is poised to satisfy 1% of the country's domestic market. The variety, known as anamuz, was specifically selected for its suitability to the Kazakhstan climate. Aliyev aims to double the harvest frequency and increase production, while also introducing other exotic crops such as mangoes, avocados, pineapples, and blueberries across 90 hectares. These plans do not only address the local demand but also aim to reduce reliance on imports.
