Tunisia, grape production posts upward trend in Nabeul

Nabeul, Tunisia has seen a significant increase in table and wine grape production for the current season, with table grape production up by 25% to an estimated 16,600 tonnes, and wine grape production increasing by 10% to approximately 23,000 tonnes. The total area under grape cultivation has also grown, with 1,264 hectares dedicated to table grapes and 6,920 hectares for wine grapes. The region, which accounts for a significant portion of the national grape crop, has already started the processing of 700 tonnes of grapes. The Cap Bon region, where most of the vineyards are located, has a total vineyard area of 13,200 hectares, including 2,200 hectares for table grapes and 11,000 hectares for wine grapes. The area employs around 3,000 viticulturists.
