The Spanish olive oil sector is nearing the end of the 2020/21 season with stable prices and expectations of a harvest of 1.3 to 1.5 million tons, depending on upcoming rainfall. The global production estimate is around 1.27 million tons, with Spain contributing the largest share, and consumption is projected to reach close to 3 million tons. Notably, South Africa's production is on the rise, with a potential harvest of 1.6 million liters in 2021, which could mark a significant increase from the previous year's 1.5 million liters, attributed to recent rainfall and an increase in farmers engaged in olive oil production.
