Turkey made a rapid start in fresh fruit and vegetable exports for the year 2026. According to data released by the Aegean Exporters Associations (AEA), the export figure of $821 million in the January-March period last year increased to $1.7 billion in the first three months of this year. In the first three months of the year, the foreign trade performance of the sector was led by mandarins, tomatoes, and peppers. In terms of product-based distribution, mandarins were at the top with $333 million in exports, followed by tomatoes with $159 million and peppers with $152 million. On the other hand, in the area of processed fruit and vegetables, there was a 6% decrease, resulting in exports of $510 million in the same period. The highest demand for Turkish fresh fruit and vegetables came from the Russian Federation.
