Between September 2020 and April 2021, Turkey's hazelnut exports reached a value of $1.5 billion, with a total of 208,779 tons exported. This figure represents a decrease in volume but an increase in value compared to the previous export season. Ilyas Oedip Sevinch, the head of the Turkish Union of Exporters of Hazelnuts and Derivative Products (KFMIB), is optimistic and anticipates a record-breaking export season in the future. Additionally, Turkey saw a significant 73% increase in pistachio exports in the first quarter of 2021, exporting 3,394 tons to 80 countries.
