Brazil will be able to export Brazil nuts to Turkey, according to a joint statement from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Negotiations between the countries have been concluded and the sanitary approval is valid for both shelled and unshelled Brazil nuts, according to the ministries. Brazil exported $3.2 billion in agricultural products to Turkey last year, primarily soy, coffee, fibers, and textile products. "Internationally recognized for its nutritional value, Brazil nuts are sustainably extracted by traditional communities. The export of this product to the Turkish market will promote income generation and regional development, contributing to the conservation of standing forests," the ministries assessed. This year, the country has accumulated ten market openings for national agribusiness products.
