In April, Turkey's fresh fruit and vegetable exports reached $235.7 million, with the sector aiming to increase market diversity and strengthen the perception of 'Quality Turkish goods' as the country celebrates its 100th republic anniversary. The Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters' Association, led by Ferhat Gürüz, played a significant role in this achievement, contributing to 46% of the sector's exports worth $1.37 billion in 2022. The country has seen growth in traditional markets like Russia, Germany, and Spain, as well as in distant markets such as Finland, Thailand, India, Malaysia, Japan, and Canada. There has been a notable increase in exports to Russia, Romania, and Ukraine. The association is actively engaging in activities to improve market diversity and address issues in export markets. Notable exports in April included tomatoes, peppers, and lemons, with significant growth in the Saudi Arabian, Belgian, Georgian, and Austrian markets.
