Turkey's most delicious potatoes grow in these lands

Sivas, which ranks first in the production of food and seed potatoes in Turkey, is expected to produce approximately 700 thousand tons of potatoes by 2024. “Potato Harvest Field Day” was held in the Central Aşağı Yıldızlı village of Sivas. Sivas Provincial Director of Agriculture Seyit Yıldız, Sivas Chamber of Agriculture President Hacı Çetindağ, Branch Managers and farmers attended the event. Emphasizing that potatoes are an important industrial plant rich in carbohydrates, starch, vitamins and minerals, which have areas of use for food and industry, Yıldız said, “Disease-free, high-yield and high-quality potato production has increased in the world and in our country in recent years with the use of certified seeds. The main factor that generally limits yield in potatoes is the seed. No matter how high the yield potential of the selected variety, if the seed to be used is not healthy and has the desired characteristics, it will not be possible to achieve the targeted success.” ...
