In the first quarter of 2023, Turkish tea exports experienced a notable increase, reaching $8.55 million, which represents a 20% rise compared to the previous year, and expanded its reach to 96 countries with an export volume of 1828 tons. Belgium, the United Kingdom, and the USA were the leading importers, with Belgium's imports surging by 44%. Efforts to open new markets were successful across various continents. DKİB Chairman Saffet Kalyoncu highlighted the need for modernizing production methods to align with international tastes and emphasized the strategy to increase market share in Europe, Turkish Republics, Middle Eastern countries, and the Russian Federation.
