Turkey's Salihli Plain is leading in the production of winter vegetables such as cabbage, cauliflower, celery, spinach, broccoli, beetroot, kale lettuce, onions, and leeks, and is sending them to various parts of Turkey, especially Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, with kale lettuce being exported to Europe. Fahrettin Arabacı, a producer, explained that he grows local cabbage from ancestral seeds and sells it in the market. Osman Akbaş, another producer, mentioned that kale lettuce, which has been cultivated in Salihli Plain for three years, is widely consumed and contributes significantly to the country's economy. Cem Yalvaç, the president of the Salihli Chamber of Agriculture, highlighted that the region leads in winter vegetable production in the Aegean Region, covering 16,000 decares and employing a large number of people.
