The Turkish Retailers Federation reported a decrease in the average basket of Ramadan sales for the second year in a row due to the pandemic. While sales usually increase by up to 20% compared to the previous month, they saw an 8% increase due to demand and a 10% decrease during the 17-day full closure. The federation, representing over 100,000 personnel and nearly 5,000 sales points, ensured continuous service to citizens. Prices of products like meat, eggs, milk, pumpkin, beans, and rice increased, while vegetables and fruit products saw a significant decrease in price. Online buying behavior continued during Ramadan, with a 10% decrease in the average basket.
