Turkey has seen a significant increase in tea exports, with shipments made to 98 countries, autonomous, and free zones within the first four months of 2023. The country's tea export portfolio has diversified, welcoming new markets from Slovakia to Rwanda, as reported by the Eastern Black Sea Exporters' Association (DKİB). This period saw a notable rise in export revenue, from 8 million 192 thousand 169 dollars in the same timeframe last year to 11 million 365 thousand 591 dollars this year. The volume of tea exports also increased, reaching 2 thousand 323 tons compared to 2 thousand 458 tons in the previous year's first quarter. Ahmet Hamdi Gürdoğan, the DKİB Board of Directors Vice President, expressed optimism for further growth in tea exports, attributing the initial success to the expanding market diversity and innovative product development by local companies.
