The Southeastern Anatolian Exporters' Associations has reported a 25.4% increase in exports in the cereals and pulses sector, reaching $9.15 billion in 2021. The sector, which provides an input of $11.47 billion to the national economy, exported to 216 countries and contributed significantly to the economy. Iraq was the main market, with the highest exports to the country at $2.33 billion. Other significant markets were the USA and Syria. Lentil exports experienced the highest increase, with a 115% rise, generating $494.34 million in revenue.
