Between January and July 2024, Georgia saw a 50% increase in tomato imports, with the total value rising from $8.06 million to $12.1 million compared to the same period in the previous year. The import price per kilogram also went up by 43%, from 42 cents to 60 cents. The majority of these tomatoes, over 99%, were imported from Turkey, amounting to 19,953 tons worth $12.06 million, with smaller quantities coming from Azerbaijan and Iran.
