A fully loaded manure tanker overturned in Germany, near Nortrup, causing a serious environmental risk. During the accident, manure, diesel, and other liquids spilled into the roadside ditch, with the rescue and damage control operations lasting for hours. The accident occurred on April 8, around three o'clock in the afternoon on the Köstenteilsweg road. The vehicle, which was carrying a 27 thousand liter tank, was traveling on a narrow, two-lane section of road when – according to the driver's account – it slipped, veered off the road, and fell into a ditch about two meters deep. The vehicle came to a stop upside down, while manure from the tank, as well as diesel and engine oil from the vehicle, leaked into the environment.
