Şemsi Bayraktar, Chairman of the Union of Chambers of Agriculture of Turkey, stressed the importance of appreciating and supporting the grape industry in Turkey due to its significant contribution to the country's economy. He highlighted the challenges faced by grape farmers, including low yields and high production costs, caused by natural disasters and rising input prices. Bayraktar emphasized the need for price stability and value recognition in order to maintain Turkey's position as a global leader in raisin exports, which generate an annual foreign exchange income of around $400-500 million.
