Ukraine: At the start of the 2023/24 season, rapeseed harvest is optimistic

A record harvest of rapeseed is expected this season. The record sown area and yield play in favor of the new crop, which can also reach the maximum mark in the final statistics. The current forecast for the rapeseed crop is 4.2 million tons. The export potential of the market and products of its processing also renews its maximum. The key to achieving such results is not only a large harvest and the launch of new processing facilities, but also the solution of logistics issues. In July, export statistics show a fairly active start to the season. Logistics is reoriented towards Danube ports and land routes across the western borders. According to market participants, the September contracts are focused on road and rail logistics of rapeseed. If the EU countries remain the key sales markets for rapeseed and rapeseed meal, China is quite successfully competing in the rapeseed oil market.
