Ukraine exported the most sugar to Turkey

As of May 1, 2025, Ukraine exported 494 thousand tons of sugar since the beginning of the 2024-2025 marketing year. This was reported by the Ukrsugar association. For the period January-April 2025, sugar exports amounted to 196.6 thousand tons. The main sales direction was the world market, which absorbed 90% of the volumes. The share of exports to EU countries is 10%. Turkey became the largest importer of Ukrainian sugar - 16% of the total volume. Libya was in second place (11%), and the European Union was in third place (10%). Minister of Agrarian Policy Vitaly Koval emphasized the strategic importance of the sugar industry for the economy of Ukraine, noting its potential in the production of value-added products.
