Ukraine has a record number of unsold potatoes

As of April 13, there is a record amount of unsold potatoes in potato storages of Ukraine. Growers do not plan to plant potato chips. Starch factories do not work because they are located in Chernihiv and Kyiv regions and are under occupation. This was stated by the World Bank expert on the development of fruit and vegetables Oksana Ruzhenkova, reports the Ukrainian Association of Potato Growers. “There is a record amount of potato starch in warehouses, which was produced in the fall of 2021 - winter of 2022. In the absence of exports of starch available in the country to meet domestic needs will be enough for at least two years, "- said the expert.
