Ukraine has emerged as a significant exporter of high-quality apples, particularly to a key market in the Middle East, where it is the second-largest supplier, surpassing global giants like China, the USA, and Poland, and trailing only behind Iran. Despite facing challenges such as a blockade on direct container transportation due to Russian aggression and a labor shortage, Ukraine successfully exported apples to 22 countries in January 2024. The country's apples are favored for their superior taste, color, and competitive pricing. However, a slight decrease in demand is anticipated in the UAE in February 2024, owing to new harvests arriving from the Southern Hemisphere.
