Ukrainian organic amaranth has been exported to Europe from the Dnipropetrovsk region, according to Oleksandr Duda, chairman of the Association of Amaranth and Amaranth Producers. The export cost is between 1,300 to 2,000 euros per ton, and the cultivation of the crop is being stimulated by exports. Duda anticipates that amaranth will become as popular as crops like buckwheat or millet in Ukraine.
