In 2022, Ukraine saw a 7% increase in soybean production, reaching 3.7 million tons across 1.5 million hectares. The country also certified 658 thousand tons (17.5% of the total production) as sustainable, non-genetically modified, and grown without deforestation, aligning with the EU's new regulations for raw material supply. This achievement is credited to the Protein Partnership Program, aiming to boost sustainable non-GM soybean production for European markets. The program invests in training farmers and certifying elevators across Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Serbia, and Ukraine. The upcoming EURO GRAIN HUB Exchange & Forum in Bucharest will further discuss the development of the Black Sea and global grain and oilseeds markets.
