Despite negative weather conditions in April and May, including frost and drought that damaged crops, Ukraine's farm ministry maintains its grain harvest forecast for 2025 at 56 million metric tons, the same as last year's harvest. However, state weather forecasters have reported up to 40% damage to winter wheat crops in southern regions due to drought and frost. APK-Inform agriculture consultancy has revised its forecast downward to 55.3 million tons, with a predicted 7.3% decrease in the corn harvest. As of May 8, farmers have sown 4.23 million hectares of grain, which is about 76% of the total expected planting area.
