During the July-March period of the 23/24 marketing year, Ukraine significantly increased its share in the EU rapeseed meal market to 20%, totaling 137 thousand tons. Russia and Belarus collectively supplied approximately 70% of the EU's needs, with a combined total of around 0.5 million tons. Following the EU's approval of increased tariffs on grain, oilseeds, and processed products from Russia and Belarus, effective July 1, 2024, there is speculation about who will replace the large supply coming from Russia and Belarus in the upcoming season.
