Ukrainian truck drivers operating in the European Union (EU) have been instructed to exit the EU by July 10, 2024, to update their documents and markings. This directive, issued by Ukraine's Ministry of Infrastructure, aims to ensure compliance with EU norms. Despite this, Ukraine and the European Commission have extended the validity of the 'transport visa-free' for Ukrainian carriers until the end of 2025, allowing them to enter EU countries without special permits. However, there are stricter requirements for Ukrainian carriers, and the 'transport visa-free' could be suspended in certain regions. Additionally, abandoning trucks abroad could lead to equal charges as kidnapping.
