[Horticultural Farmers' Cooperative Newspaper=Reporter Han-tae Lee] The Ulsan Horticultural Farmers' Cooperative and the Gyeongnam Persimmon Horticultural Farmers' Cooperative have become members of the Korean Horticultural Farmers' Cooperative Association. The Korean Horticultural Farmers' Cooperative Association held a special general meeting on the 3rd and unanimously approved the membership of the Ulsan Horticultural Farmers' Cooperative (Chairman Kim Chang-gyun) and the Gyeongnam Persimmon Horticultural Farmers' Cooperative (Chairman Gil Pan-geun). With this, the association has become a nationwide organization with a total of 22 specialized horticultural farmers' cooperatives and over 50,000 farmers participating, following the existing 20 member cooperatives such as Daegu-Gyeongbuk Apple Horticultural Farmers' Cooperative, Chungbuk Horticultural Farmers' Cooperative, and Jeju Citrus Horticultural Farmers' Cooperative. Park Cheol-sun, Chairman of the Horticultural Farmers' Cooperative Association, stated, "Established in 2001, the Horticultural Farmers' Cooperative Association aims to enhance the competitiveness of the fruit industry through a close cooperative system among specialized horticultural cooperatives by item."
