The global shrimp market is still struggling to rebound from a post-pandemic downturn, marked by an oversupply of inventory, increased production costs, and rising freight expenses. The situation has been further dampened by the United States imposing countervailing duties on three major exporting countries and high-profile reports highlighting industry malpractices in India. Shrimp exporters from Ecuador, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, and Bangladesh voiced their concerns over these challenges at the Seafood Expo Global in Barcelona.
