A Sh7.5 billion (61.4 million euros) infrastructure upgrade at Moi International Airport has boosted the export of fruit and vegetable products. The project included improvements to the cargo terminal, a new airport cold store, ground lighting systems, and approaching light towers. According to the Fresh Produce Consortium of Kenya, the modernization of the airport has significantly enhanced Kenya's export of fresh produce to the international market. Notable exports include chili peppers, green beans, flowers, avocados, and pineapples.
